Preface:
I wrote this piece with the intention of showing off very small groups of the orchestra doing very specific musical tasks. There is music for exposed soloists, four-part writing for winds, a dynamic brass choir, and 16th-note undulations and runs for strings. I hope you enjoy learning and performing it.
 
Commission:
Lead Kindly Light was commissioned by the Lyceum Philharmonic Orchestra at American Heritage School in American Fork, Utah under the direction of Kayson Brown in early 2019 for their commercial album, "Turning Hearts."
 
First Performance:
Lead Kindly Light was premiered by the Lyceum Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Kayson Brown on May 4, 2019 at the Point Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah, USA.
