Kacee Cambron (Mickelsen) Senior Recital - Utah State University

Kacee Cambron Mickelsen, soprano, grew up in Boise, Idaho, where she was heavily involved in musical theatre and studied classical voice with Marta (Johns) Rigby from the age of nine until she graduated from Eagle High School in 2008.  She served as choir president at EHS and placed first at the Idaho State Solo Festival her senior year of high school.

Kacee attended Utah State University and graduated in Vocal Performance in 2012.  During her time at Utah State, Kacee studied with Dr. Cindy Dewey and participated in many of USU's Opera Theatre productions.  She played several leading roles at Utah State, including that of Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute).  She was also a featured soloist with the Utah State Symphony Orchestra and the American Festival Chorus, directed by Dr. Craig Jessop, and was awarded the Outstanding Singer of the Year Award every year she was at USU.

Kacee married her best friend and fellow Utah State music graduate, Shane Mickelsen, in 2013. Kacee and Shane live in Riverton, Utah and run a music studio together where they teach voice, piano, composition, and music theory.

Kacee was a winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in Utah in 2014.  She feels so blessed to have had so many opportunities to share her love of music with others, and feels that, above all else, her greatest accomplishments are her two sweet kids!
