3. Summary of Musical Training/Experience

  • Orchestration workbook (PDF)

  • 8 Private Composition Lessons (45 min.)

  • 8 Group Composition Seminars (90 min.) Featuring guest composers, musicians to play students' music, and lectures on essential topics of orchestration, form, technology, and composition.

  • Individual training in score/click track preparation.

  • Professional Recording Session with orchestra (Strings, Woodwinds, Brass) to record the piece that you will have written (or workshopped) during the seminar.

Required Materials:

  • Software. I recommend using professional grade software Finale or Sibelius. Sibelius is cheaper, and it is considered to be the most widely used professional notation software. I personally use Finale because I've used it all my life and I know it better. There is also a cheaper version of finale called Finale Print Music (up to 24 staves). Finale also has a free version called Finale Notepad which can handle up to 8 Staves. There is also a free notation software called Musescore, which will be suitable for many people.

  • Computer
