​THE FINE PRINT:

  • Each semester course costs $698 upfront, or $180 monthly for 4 months.

  • Refunds for course withdrawal will be given on the following scale:

    • 14 or more days before the course: Full refund​

    • Fewer than 14 days before the course: 90% refund

    • Within the first 14 days of the course: 60% refund

    • 14 or more days after the start of the course: no refund

  • Refunds will not be accommodated for absences, scheduling conflicts, or other calendaring issues that may present themselves.

  • Each assessment (and course as a whole) will be graded on the following scale:

    • 1 - Little-to-no understanding demonstrated

    • 2 - Approaching Proficiency

    • 3 - Proficient

    • 4 - Mastery

  • Courses must be passed with a 3 or higher in order to earn credit and progress to the next course level.

  • To make up for a failed course (grades 2 or 1) a student may either retake the final exam ($50) or retake the course.

  • Students wishing to get credit for a class not taken may earn that credit by taking a proctored final exam for the course in question. $50 fee applies.

  • Certificates will be issued in two types:

    • Certificate of Mastery​

      • Students must achieve a 4 in all required level III and IV courses.

      • Students must achieve a 4 in Theory Pedagogy and Orchestration (where required).

      • Students must achieve a 4 in all composition projects or final projects as applicable.

    • Certificate of Proficiency

      • Students must achieve a 3 or higher in each required course or project.​

These certificates and course offerings are not accredited by any institution other than Mickelsen Music Services, LLC. These courses are designed to prepare participants for non-academic commercial music careers and/or avocations.
